Duffy: Centurions are beatable

John Duffy Featherstone

Featherstone Rovers coach John Duffy has said today’s Super League opponents Leigh Centurions are beatable, and a win could be the catalyst for something special.

Duffy has been in charge for one game, the loss against Toulouse Olympique, since the departure of Jon Sharp and the former Swinton Lions boss is confident his chargers can give Leigh a fright.

The Rovers finished fourth in the Championship as Halifax leapfrogged them on the final day with a victory over Hull Kingston Rovers. Meanwhile, the Centurions enter the Qualifiers after finishing 11th in the top tier.

“The team is capable of getting off to a great start in the Qualifiers,” he told the Daily Star.

“A victory could prove a catalyst for something very special.

“Leigh are a full-time Super League side and have being operating at high-intensity levels all season.

“But they are beatable and we will do everything in our power to get what would be a terrific job done.”
