Leigh Leopards head coach Adrian Lam has shared an injury update for his side ahead of their game against Castleford Tigers on Friday night.
With the race for the play-offs so tight, this game will be absolutely crucial – and with a big Castleford crowd expected, it may be a trickier prospect than expected.
The Leopards are just one point ahead of Catalans Dragons and Leeds Rhinos in the final play-off spot currently, so any slip-up could end their play-off hopes.
When the sides last met, Leigh ran out 20-10 victors, but in May, the result was a 28-28 draw, as golden point extra-time couldn’t separate the two sides.
“Driving me insane” – Adrian Lam provides Leigh Leopards injury update
Matt Moylan was out for around a month due to a rib injury, but has now returned, and Adrian Lam said in the pre-match press conference: “He’s come through with flying colours.
“Matt was very influential in the win. He could have probably been a little bit more slick with a couple of opportunities where we could have scored more tries. That’ll be his challenge moving forward. How do we ice off those opportunities that we created.
“A couple of other players have got niggly injuries, but there’s not too much to worry about. I think this week will be the first week this season where everyone is in contention for selection.”
Then, when asked about how he’s dealing with selection dilemmas, Lam said: “I can’t, it’s driving me insane. Obviously, the 21 this week will probably be the strongest 21 that we’ve had of the year and everyone is available to play so I’m really excited about that.
“Again, the minute that you think you’re in a better place it comes back to bite you on the backside so the key is for us is to just have a great attitude, keep our standards high and go there with a clear have clarity on how we want to play.
“This is a banana skin, we’re aware of that. So again, it’ll be a tough night.
