Hull FC travel to Perpignan to take on Catalans for the 2nd time this season today with bookies just favouring the French side . They make the Dragons around 4/5 to win here with an away win around 11/10 .
After 4 wins in a row saw Catalans up to 3rd in the table a poor run of 4 straight defeats has seen them knocked out of the cup , by today’s opponents , and down to 4th in the table only 2 points ahead of Wigan , Salford and Castleford so this is a big game for both sides . A win for the hosts will see them leapfrog their opponents and move up to 3rd in the table .
Lee Radford’s side have won their last 3 games after the heavy defeat to Huddersfield at Magic , their only loss in 6 , and I think they can repeat their close win in Perpignan in April .
Things were looking good for the Dragons when they won at Hull in May but they were terrible in losing at home to London last week and are looking over their shoulder now at the chasing pack . The black and whites are flying right now , with Connor and Kelly both at the top of their game . They looked as good as any side in the league at Castleford last week , particularly after half time , and a repeat of that form should be too much for Catalans .
There could be a lot of points in this but I think Hull can win this by around 6-10 points and consolidate their 3rd place in the table as we approach the business end of the season . I think Hull could be looking to target these next few games as they look to rest a few names as they approach next months cup semi final against Warrington .
