Dixon becomes latest York City Knights coup

York have confirmed the signing of former Super League winger Kieran Dixon from London Broncos ahead of the 2021 season.

The 28-year-old has been a standout for both the Broncos and Hull KR since bursting onto the scene in 2012.

A former England Knights representative, Dixon is a prolific try-scorer, notching 123 tries in 170 career appearances.

He is the latest high-profile player to commit to the Knights for next year, joining the likes of Danny Kirmond, Ryan Atkins and Adam Cuthbertson.

“I’m pleased to have signed on for 2021 with the Knights,” he said. “They’re a team with big ambitions and a drive to get to the top.

“With the new stadium and a great set of fans I’m really looking forward to getting started and working hard with the rest of the team. I think the direction the club is heading is really exciting and I’m honoured and proud to become a part of it.”

York head coach James Ford added: “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to sign Kieran. We’ve patiently been looking for an additional outside back for a while and we believe Kieran is exactly what we’re after.

“He has ample Super League experience, an outstanding try to game ratio, electric pace and he is a handful on early plays. I’m confident Kieran will fit in with our culture and add to it in places.”
