Disciplinary update after England’s win over France

Shaun Wane’s England side no doubt exorcised some of the demons that still haunt them after their heart breaking World Cup semi-final defeat to Samoa today as they took out their frustrations on France.

France are hosting the next World Cup in 2025 and the last time the tournament was held there Great Britain lifted the trophy in 1972.

England are looking to end an over 50-year wait to replicate that side and win the World Cup and no other team has ever won the tournament in France.

Laurent Frayssinous’ France side saw the kind of challenge that could await them in 2025 as England ran in six first half tries started and finished by Leeds Rhinos star Ash Handley.

Wigan Warriors were dominating the try scoring with Harry Smith, Jake Wardle and Ethan Havard scoring England’s next tries.

George Williams of Warrington Wolves also crossed to crown his first game as official England skipper.

In the second half, Williams and Handley continued to do the damage with both completing their hat-tricks with tries created by the other.

Meanwhile, Kai Pearce-Paul got a try from a lovely Williams break.

Danny Walker wrapped up the scoring on his home ground.

Now though, the attention turns back round to Round 11 of the Betfred Super League.

Over the last few weeks we have seen a high number of charges and bans from the Match Review Panel.

So could the same happen from this international clash? Well Serious About Rugby League understands that this is very unlikely.

With nobody carded or put on report both the RFL and and French Federation will scan the game for any moments that would require a closer look and be taken to the Match Review Panel but if nothing is found, which is highly likely, then the panel will not even be called into action and will be able to enjoy their Bank Holiday weekend.
