Disciplinary minutes reveal why Bureta Faraimo and Liam Watts were banned following Castleford Tigers’ defeat to Hull KR

Castleford Tigers went down 26-10 to Hull KR last Friday night, but to make matters worse two of their players have also been banned.

Bureta Faraimo will sit out two matches after being charged with a Grade B Reckless High Tackle, whilst Watts will sit out for one match with a Grade A Careless High Tackle.

And, now the disciplinary minutes have been revealed from the Match Review Panel’s findings as to why both men have been banned.

For Faraimo, it was adjudged he had conceded a “High tackle – When tackling or attempting to tackle makes contact with the head or neck of an opponent Reckless – tried to tackle but reckless about outcome – Grade B.”

For Watts, his charge was instead ‘Careless’ – “High tackle – Careless – When tackling or attempting to tackle makes contact with the head or neck of an opponent Careless – ball carrier dips – Grade A.”

Following the latest round of Betfred Super League matches, the list of charges is as follows:

Michael McIlorum – Catalans Dragons – Grade A Careless High Tackle – 1 Match Penalty Notice
Curtis Sironen – St Helens – Grade B Late hit on passer – 1 Match Penalty Notice
Bureta Faraimo – Castleford Tigers – Grade B Reckless High Tackle – 2 Match Penalty Notice
Liam Watts – Castleford Tigers – Grade A Careless High Tackle – 1 Match Penalty Notice
Ryan Brierley – Salford Red Devils – Grade B Dangerous Contact [other contrary behaviour – leads with feet] – 1 Match Penalty Notice
Dan Sarginson – Salford Red Devils – Grade A Late hit on passer – 1 Match Penalty Notice
