Ian Watson has named a 25-Man Squad for the final Huddersfield Giants friendly against Super League rivals Castleford Tigers on Sunday afternoon.
Olly Wilson misses out with suspension, after he was allowed to play against another Super League rival in London Broncos, while the squad is trimmed to 25 from 27 last week, as preparations ramp up for our first game of the season at Leigh Sports Village, on February 16th.
The Giants will also be able to include both Leroy Cudjoe and Tui Lolohea who have both received suspensions from the London Broncos friendly fixture. This is because the bans do not count for this weekend’s fixture vs Castleford.
Leroy Cudjoe -Huddersfield Giants – Dangerous Throw/Lift – Grade C – 1 Match Penalty Notice
Tui Lolohea – Huddersfield Giants – Dangerous Contact – Grade D -2 Match Penalty Notice and a ÂŁ250 Fine
These suspensions mean Tui Lolohea will miss Huddersfield’s Round One fixture against Leigh Leopards but Leroy Cudjoe will be available because Huddersfield Giants reserves have a friendly against Wigan Warriors Reserves and he can serve the first game then.
The lateness that the ban was awarded out mean that Lolohea cannot serve the ban this weekend and in the reserves friendly. Arguably, the Giants have been let down by the disciplinary.
