Disallowed Super League tries show the need for video referee at every game

Warrington Wolves fans in the ground have been left dismayed having had two tries chalked off by the video referee.

At the end of the first half, Matty Ashton was denied an intercept try before Ben Currie had a try disallowed at the start of the season half after claiming a kick.

Both times Liam Moore felt the tries were legitimate but both times elected to turn to the video referee.

The second time he was very very close to giving the try but chose not to.

He was vindicated in his decision to do so both times as the video referee was able to spot two tiny touches which constituted knock ons.

The first one was by Stefan Ratchford as he tried to tackle Chris McQueen and the second came because Ben Currie juggled the ball which touched Will Pryce which means the try has to be disallowed.

So both tries were disallowed and rightly so but without the video referee the tries would have been given and the game would have been killed off.

Liam Moore should be commended for the decisions he made.
