Dewsbury sign local player

Dewsbury Rams have completed the signing of utility back Tommy Brierley for the 2020 season.

The 23-year-old had taken time away from the sport due to an injury he picked up whilst at York City Knights, but is now ready to resume his career.

Head coach Lee Greenwood told the club website: “Tommy is another player who has shown potential for a few years now. He can play in all the outside back positions and with a strong pre-season can really make an impression next year.

“He is another younger lad that will benefit from our partnerships with Hull KR and Coventry.

‘This will allow him to play weekly at a good standard, while his primary goal is to cement a spot in our team. People that I respect have spoken well of his ability and attitude which makes him a welcome addition. He is a local boy too and he comes here wanting to be a success.”
