Catalans Dragons were able to defeat French rivals Toulouse on Thursday in the first French derby in Super League.
That was despite going down to 12 men following Joe Chan’s red card which has since seen him pick up a two-match ban which will only come into effect after the game against Salford on Monday as will all bans picked up in the first round of games over Easter.
Making things tougher on the Dragons alongside the red card was the nasty injury picked up by the in form Mike McMeeken which was believed to be a broken arm but has now been diagnosed as otherwise.
The former Cas man has been essential for the Dragons in 2022 even covering the front row with some performances worthy of a top drawer prop against the likes of Leeds.
But his season, like teammate Sam Tomkins who is now out for month, has come to a halt following a dislocation of a bone in his wrist which was diagnosed by a specialist today.
It means he’ll be out for four weeks – a spell the Dragons will need him for after a loss of form recently.
