Details confirmed for massive Challenge Cup clash

Wakefield Trinity have confirmed a date and time for their Challenge Cup clash with Leigh Leopards.

The game is an interesting tie and one of five all-Super League ties as the road to Wembley truly begins.

It is a game between two sides many expected to be battling it out for survival and although the cup may be an unwanted distraction for winless Wakefield, a cup run is a real possibility for the Leopards who have been competitive in every game including five wins from 10 lately defeating Leeds Rhinos.

Wakefield and Leigh did meet in a sensational cup tie back in 2015 when Leigh were in the Championship.

Now a strong Super League side they can truly dream of Wembley but will have to win away at Wakefield.

The game will take place on Friday 19th May, kick off 7.45pm.

It is the third game that night alongside Halifax Panthers vs St Helens on Viaplay and the meeting between Hull KR and Batley Bulldogs.

Wakefield have recently received the huge boost of signing former Man of Steel Luke Gale.

The halfback captained Leeds Rhinos to the Challenge Cup in 2020 picking up the Man of the Match against Wigan Warriors in the semi-final stage before nailing the drop goal that won the final against Salford Red Devils.
