Des Hasler sacked by Manly Sea Eagles with former Leeds Rhinos coaching candidate set to take over

Des Hasler has been relieved of his position as Manly Sea Eagles boss.

It comes after weeks of turmoil as the Sea Eagles wanted to position an assistant alongside Hasler with the view to replacing Hasler with that assistant.

This was said to have upset Hasler, understandably, and has led to weeks of tension between the club and a man very much associated with them.

An experienced coach who stood his ground, Manly have now been forced to part company with Hasler sacking the coach resulting in what is expected to be a substantial pay out.

It is now expected that former South Sydney and Brisbane Broncos boss Anthony Seibold set to take over.

Seibold is currently working with Eddie Jones in the England Rugby Union system as defence coach for the national team.

However, he has long been eyeing up a Head Coach role in rugby league and in 2021 expressed interest in the Leeds Rhinos job but the club chose to stick with Richard Agar at that time.

Now though the door is open for Seibold to make an NRL return taking over from Hasler after this tumultuous end to his association with the Sea Eagles.
