Derek Beaumont slams legal action against RFL as “money driven”

It’s now common knowledge that the likes of Nick Fozzard and other ex-players are taking legal action against the RFL.

This comes as they seek compensation for head injuries they picked up during their careers which have had an effect on them in later life.

Now Leigh Leopards owner, Derek Beaumont has had his say on the matter on social media.

Beaumont was backing the recent comments made by Leeds Rhinos legend Keith Senior speaking with Rugby League Live.

Now Beaumont has said that those involved are money driven.

He said on Twitter: “It’s already damaging the game with premiums! Can’t wait for list of names be revealed many only played one game! Common sense won’t prevail as it’s money driven!

“Also some of them still taking money out of the game even coaching kids in it and playing in all stars games! You couldn’t make it up! Will all soon be out there for everyone to see and people to be accountable to.”

Meanwhile, the aforementioned Fozzard has been open about why he is involved and has said when the facts come out that people will then really understand.
