Demoted referee Robert Hicks back in the Super League fold

After being demoted following a controversial video refereeing performance in Leeds’ narrow defeat to Warrington a fortnight ago, Robert Hicks is back in the middle for this weekend’s games.

He will take charge of the Leigh-Leeds fixture on Friday night – which will be the Centurions’ 16th attempt to post their first win of the 2021 campaign.

Hicks was criticised for his decision to award Josh Charnley a try in the 51st minute after there was no clear evidence that the ball had touched the whitewash, with the official having to run the line as a touch judge last weekend.
