David Fifita unhappy with new Wakefield Trinity shirt

It’s safe to say that the release of Wakefield Trinity’s new home shirt divided opinion.

The new white/light blue design is a shift away from the traditional blue, white and red that the rest of Super League has been accustomed in seeing from Trinity.

But, one man who isn’t happy with the white design is barnstorming prop forward David Fifita, who revealed on Twitter: “Geeezzz, it’s gonna be a tough preseason for me BIG boppers look great in WHITE.”

The design marks a move that chief executive Michael Carter called an improvement.

Carter said: “We’ve made some small tweaks to the club crest just to improve the definition and sharpen our digital presence and image.

“We think it will appeal to a younger generation and our merchandise offering will have a mixture of the new designs, but also certain elements that will hark back to a retro era.”
