David Fifita is being linked with a stunning transfer.
The Gold Coast Titans forward has come under scrutiny in 2022 as head coach Justin Holbrook attempts to tinker with the best position for the powerhouse.
But, with his time at the Titans appearing under threat, Dolphins boss Wayne Bennett has confirmed that he is very much in for Fifita.
“He’s in that category of players we are looking for,” Bennett confirmed to the Daily Telegraph.
Bennett handed Fifita his NRL debut in 2018 whilst the duo were at Brisbane Broncos and the former Great Britain boss is willing to wait two years to get the deal over the line.
“It’s not my job to coach other players at other clubs, but I have a lot of respect for Dave,” said Bennett.
“If he is on the market, yes, I would be interested in David Fifita.
“You can’t walk away from quality players, but he isn’t on the market just yet, so we will have to wait.
“I know what a wonderful player that he can be.”
Fifita has been used as a centre and off the bench by Holbrook so far this season, with News Corp revealing that the hulking forward has contacted Bennett in recent weeks in a bid to help him with his game.
