The host of the Golden Point Podcast, Brian Carney, quizzed the current Castleford boss about the difficulty of recruiting for Warrington in 2022 and Castleford for 2021, but Powell quelled Tigers’ fears instantly.

“I’m doing this day-to-day job, so I would leave the rest with players’ agents and Warrington,” Powell said.

“Players leave clubs every single year and that’s the way it is – new challenges are there coming into Cas and Warrington.”

Powell was also keen to express that, for 2021, he is firmly committed to the Tigers and that the same is true for those players at the club.

“As for the players that are in this organisation, I only speak to them about Castleford Tigers.”

2022 will be a big rebuilding year for the West Yorkshire club, with Oliver Holmes and Peter Mata’utia already confirmed to be leaving, with Jake Mamo and Joe Westerman joining the club.
