Daryl Powell suggests Hull FC struggle under pressure when playing at home

Daryl Powell’s Warrington Wolves are the only unbeaten side left in Super League and on Saturday they take on Hull FC in front of the Channel 4 cameras.

Powell is very aware of the threat Hull FC pose despite losing their last four games.

He also thinks they pose a bigger threat away from home because they have less pressure on them away from the MKM Stadium.

“The way I’m looking at them at the moment I think they’re better away from home than they are at home,” Powell said on BBC Radio Merseyside.

“They seem as though they’re a little bit more relaxed mindset and play better, they did against St Helens a couple of rounds ago.”

He also pointed out some of their biggest threats:

“They’ve got some players that we need to prepare for, people like Hoy and Clifford and you know they’re big in the middle of the field.

“Dwyer is playing well, you expect him to be back and they’ll use him as a real threat off the bench.

“The biggest danger to a team that’s winning consistently is to start taking your eye off the ball. I’ve been around long enough to know you can easily drop off a little bit and we want to make sure we avoid that.”
