Daryl Powell emerges in Warrington colours for the first time

Daryl Powell has been spotted in Warrington Wolves’ colours for the first time.

After eight-and-a-half seasons at the Jungle with the Castleford Tigers, Powell has made the move across to Cheshire and he has been along to the Halliwell Jones Stadium for his inauguration.

Posing for a photo with ‘The Wire’ scarf, Powell enters Warrington in a new era.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge,” Powell told Warrington’s club website upon his appointment.

“Warrington is an outstanding club with a rich history and the opportunity to coach the club from 2022 onwards is a very special one.

“My coaching philosophy is to support players to achieve special things and I think everyone knows and can see what I like to do with my players and teams.”

Powell finished outside the play-offs with Castleford for the second season running in 2021, with the Tigers ending the season in eighth – though a Challenge Cup appearance softened the blow.
