Daryl Clark gives honest update on horror injuries

The rugby league fraternity was stunned at the end of the 2021 Super League season when Daryl Clark revealed the extent of injuries he had been playing with.

The Warrington Wolves’ season ended with a whimper in a 19-0 home defeat to Hull KR, with Clark on the field for most of that fixture which is an incredible effort considering the injuries he was playing with.

He played that game as a true warrior with a torn MCL, two fractured ribs and in need of hip surgery and now he has given an update on where he stands.

“Recovery is going well, I’ve flown to Tenerife for just over three weeks to chill out in the sun and take my mind away from rugby and just do some rehab nice and relaxed,” Clark told Serious About Rugby League.

Under incoming head coach Daryl Powell, Clark knows exactly how the club will tick having been part of the magnificent Castleford Tigers side that went to Wembley in 2014.

And, the 28-year-old has set himself the aim of making it into Shaun Wane’s reckoning for the 2022 World Cup at the end of next season.

“The massive goal for me is to do well for Warrington under the new coach and end of the year goal is to be part off the World Cup squad and represent England.”
