Danny Walker gives future update as he enters final year of Warrington contract

Danny Walker has been at Warrington since 2019 and has established himself as one of the best impact hookers in Super League.

He signed a three-year deal back in 2019 with his hometown club and another one-year extension early on in 2021, but with a new head coach coming in in the shape of Daryl Powell, Walker has revealed that he needs to impress in order to be at the Halliwell Jones in 2022.

“I met up with him on Monday morning and I had a few conversations earlier in the year about contracts and the future,” Walker told the Rugby League Review Podcast.

“We had a good conversation, about 45 minutes long, listening to how he wants to play.

“He’s definitely a coach I’m excited to work with – the work he has done with Paul McShane is borderline incredible, when he went to Castleford no one thought he would get to the heights that he is currently at.”

Walker turned out for the England Knights in their demolition of Jamaica a week ago, but is still just 22 years of age.
