Castleford Tigers head coach Lee Radford has given the prognosis on a number of his stars as they prepare to travel to Salford Red Devils on Friday night.
Radford has stated that Danny Richardson could feature after playing for the reserves last weekend, but the former Hull boss revealed that the halfback’s neck issue will never heal properly.
“It’s still a bad one, it’s still not fully healed and the bone has still not reattached,” Radford told BBC West Yorkshire Sport.
“When you see it on the scans, you grimace, but the specialists have said it’s never going to heal properly.
“It’s been a long time for him, the neck brace was a real struggle for him because when you’re wearing that, you can’t do anything physically and you lose all your mass.
“But he came through the reserves game and I thought he was good.
“It was a difficult day, the standard wasn’t very high if I’m being brutally honest, but how he communicated with the blokes was great – he’ll be in contention.”
Greg Eden will be in contention for the trip to Salford as will Cheyse Blair, but Sosaia Feki won’t.
“It’s just a slight niggle to his hamstring but we didn’t want to risk him,” he said of Feki. “I don’t know if he’ll play for Featherstone at the weekend, he’s been in with the physio and we’ll know more later on.”
