Cronulla sign popular hooker from Rovers

Popular Featherstone Rovers hooker Cameron King has signed for NRL side Cronulla Sharks on a one-year deal.

King,28, signed for Rovers ahead of the 2019 season from Paramatta Eels and scored 18 tries in 28 appearances as Featherstone reached the Championship playoff final.

The hooker told the club website: “It’s was good to get here, meet everyone and jump straight into it.”

“I wasn’t sure I’d get another opportunity in the NRL, so I’m grateful to be back. It’s good to get here and I’m excited about the year ahead.”

King previously played for St George-Illawara Dragons and North Queensland Cowboys before injuries halted his progress.

He will be hoping for better luck over there this time as he competes with Blayke Brailey and Kyle Patterson for a spot in the team.
