Craig Hall takes a kick for Featherstone Rovers. The ball is on the kicking tee and he leans down to position it, looking up.

Former Hull FC, Hull KR and Wakefield Trinity man Craig Hall is gearing up for his testimonial as well as a big season with current club Featherstone Rovers.

He is certainly expecting a big season based on the praise he had for new coach, former Leeds Rhinos assistant, Sean Long.

“It’s been good, you do the same kind of things, but it’s been enjoyable as always,” he said of working with Long as he spoke on Fev’s Twitter.

“I played with him in my last year at Hull FC in 2010, but not been with him since but the friendship was there but it was good to see what he would bring as a coach, he’s done everything in the game.

“He was talking about his trophies the other day so I was trying to get something off him for my testimonial.

“He’s brought Leon [Pryce] with him as well, we will definitely have a bit of bite to our attack this year.”

The attacking development helped along by the former St Helens halfbacks is not the only excitement going on for Hall as he prepares for his testimonial and praised Hull KR for their interest in his testimonial:

“It’s been exciting, the naked calendar came out today and with Hull KR there has been plenty of interest for the game.

“I just want to do whatever I can on the field for Featherstone.”

Before that he has the small matter of a derby against Castleford Tigers:

“Played against them quite a few times, but never for Featherstone but I have played in a Cas Wakefield derby.

“All the fans are excited for it, just good to get rugby back. It’s New Year’s Eve. I’ve never played on New Year’s Eve, I’ve played on Boxing Day, it makes you start playing a bit quicker before a couple more friendlies before the season starts.”
