COVID-19 stops the game down under

Throughout the world the threat of the coronavirus has spread and has struck fear into quite a lot of people.

There is a memo circulating around Queensland Rugby League (QRL) that they will be suspending all competitions from juniors through to their colts until June 2020.

Today power brokers at New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) had a meeting to discuss the season ahead and an announcement is expected tomorrow morning.

It’s expected to confirm the suspension of all junior rugby league through to Jersey Flegg until June.

This will be for both NSWRL and QRL, with the Canterbury Cup NSW and Intrust Super Cup (QLD Cup) most likely to carry on in case players are required to play in the NRL.
