Could ex-Wigan Warriors man Zak Hardaker be heading for this destination after short-term deal at Leeds Rhinos?

The future of Zak Hardaker continues to do the rounds despite the former Wigan Warriors man confirmed to be signing for Leeds Rhinos until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old fullback/centre was let go by the Lancashire club just a week after ‘dipping’ below the standards expected at the DW Stadium.

And, one of those clubs that was rumoured with a move for Hardaker before his Leeds signature was announced had been his first club, Featherstone Rovers.

McDermott was asked about whether or not he had contacted Zak Hardaker about a potential move to the Millennium Stadium.

“There’s a couple of things in that – he’s a Featherstone lad and has played for the club whilst Leeds signed him from Featherstone.

“He knows the owner really well, but of course there would be interest from the club for Zak.

“We all know what animal Zak is – he’s a colourful character and you don’t sign him on without understanding that.

“What you need to do is try and manage that while he’s there.

“The club’s interested, but I think he will look for a full-time environment.

“Having said that, the club’s ambition to keep trying to sign really good players, it’s bursting at the seams.”

However, there is speculation that Hardaker could still be heading for Rovers once his short-team deal at Leeds has been concluded if Rovers get promoted.
