Could disgruntled NRL trio be Super League bound?

There has been some upheaval at one NRL club this week.

St George Illawarra Dragons have pated company with their coach Anthony Griffin with former Featherstone Rovers coach Ryan Carr, who also worked with the Leeds Rhinos for a spell, taking over.

However, with the Dragons struggling and changing direction, it is being reported by numerous sources that a quartet of their stars are disgruntled and could be eyeing up a move away.

These include Ben Hunt, Jack Bird, Jaydn Su’A and Mikaele Ravalawa.

It is often these disgruntled NRL stars that we see make mid-season moves to Super League. So could the door be open for them to make the move across?

Ben Hunt is perhaps too big of a name to expect to come over right now but perhaps Super League clubs could have some success in chasing the others.

Meanwhile, it is being reported that Canterbury Bulldogs could be interested in halfback Hunt.

“I’m not sure he wants to stay there, in my eyes there are a lot of other clubs that would be circling, there is one that stands out to me and that is the Bulldogs,” Braith Anasta said on NRL 360.

“There are murmurs that the Bulldogs are chasing, I know Gus has interest in Hunt.

“Hunt would be the perfect fit for the Bulldogs right now, Kikau to come back in, Mahoney, Burton, Crichton to come in next year.

“He would be the perfect solution to the Bulldogs.”
