Cornwall RLFC have named their first-ever head coach, their first-ever player and now they have brought out their first-ever kit sponsor.
With Neil Kelly on board for the 2022 League 1 season as well as former Leeds Rhinos prop and Grand Final winner, Anthony Mullally, the Cornish club have started their legacy in the right way.
And, now they have announced a three-year technical and kit partnership with iconic global sportswear brand hummel®️ – ahead of the 2022 Betfred League One season.
The Danish sportswear brand were founded in 1923 and since their inception, have provided apparel to some of the biggest teams from the world of football, rugby, basketball, futsal, volleyball and handball.
Keen to stay loyal to their Danish roots, hummel®️ and their iconic chevrons have adorned the ensembles of Denmark’s national football team in many major national tournaments, and they are still in partnership now. Premier League football teams Southampton and Everton are also currently supplied by hummel®️, alongside their Championship peers Bristol City and Middlesbrough.
In 2017, hummel®️ joined forces with the Rugby Football League and this has subsequently led to similar arrangements with several Super League clubs.
As the official technical and kit partner of Cornwall RLFC, hummel®️ will design and develop match, training and travel wear, along with a comprehensive retail offering.
Commenting on the partnership with hummel®️, Cornwall RLFC’s head of commercial Rob Butland said: “We went through a thorough process in determining what we think is a huge part of our identity.
To attract a global brand like hummel®️, alongside the likes of Everton, Southampton, Wigan Warriors, Hull FC, Wakefield Trinity and Featherstone Rovers is a huge statement. To be a champion you must look the part, and our partnership with hummel®️ will certainly achieve that.”
Mark Underwood, managing director at the Elite Group, who exclusively manage the brand on behalf of hummel®️ in the United Kingdom and Ireland, added: “We are absolutely delighted to be joining Cornwall RLFC on their journey. We believe with our support, not just on the field, but also off it, we can really engage with the community of Cornwall to grow both brands. We are delighted to be working with this exciting new club.”
