St Helens star Lachlan Coote has admitted he has his eyes on a place in Wayne Bennett’s Great Britain squad.
The New South Wales-born full-back could be selected through his Scottish ancestry and has previously played in three Test matches for Scotland.
“I definitely would be (interested),” Coote told the Yorkshire Post.
“I wasn’t even sure if I was eligible until someone tossed it up the other week. It would be an awesome trip to go on.
“I loved my time with Scotland and I was filthy I missed the 2017 World Cup but I just had a little run of injuries at the back end of that season.”
The iconic Great Britain tours will return at the end of this year as they face Tonga, Papua New Guinea and two Tests against New Zealand.
Whether Bennett will consider Coote for selection remains to be seen, with Gareth Widdop, Jonny Lomax and Sam Tomkins just a few of the names who could play full-back.
