Controversial forward stood down after being kicked out of restaurant

The Bulldogs have stood down Elliott pending an NRL Integrity Unit investigation into an incident that occurred on Sunday afternoon, when restaurant management asked Elliot to leave the premises.

Nine has been told that Elliott and Boyle were seen heading towards the bathrooms together which prompted security to later demand Elliott leave the venue.

It is believed Elliott had been drinking just prior to the incident that occurred. He has been receiving counselling for his alcohol problems for most of this year.

A statement from Canterbury read:

“The Bulldogs have been made aware of an incident involving Adam Elliott on the Gold Coast.

The Club are currently working with the NRL Integrity Unit regarding the matter.

As a result the Bulldogs have stood Elliott down from the final two matches of the season, until that process has been completed.

The Club is not in a position to comment further at this stage.”
