Contract details for one of the players that Castleford Tigers have been linked with have emerged in reports Down Under.
Castleford Tigers have already had a very busy off-season but none of that has related to squad building so far with the changes coming in ownership, head coach and assistant coach.
Of course, all of those changes and the fact that the Tigers have earned a Grade A IMG score will help with their recruitment process but as yet, only a few signings have been made.
One of those men is centre/utility back Zac Cini from Parramatta Eels with the 24-year-old starring in the NSW Cup in the 2024 season.
The NSW Cup is one of the major feeder competitions to the NRL with the Queensland equivalent being suitably named The Queensland Cup, a competition where one of Castleford Tigers’ reported signings played in 2024.
That man is PNG Hunters hooker Judah Rimbu and further details surrounding the 23-year-old’s proposed Castleford Tigers contract have now emerged.

Rimbu was first reported to be signing with Castleford Tigers by Yorkshire Live and further confirmation of that transfer has come from Down Under, as well as contract details.
The Mole of Wide World of Sports has claimed that Rimbu will head to England in the coming weeks after committing to a two-year deal with the Tigers with Castleford seen to beat out a number of NRL clubs.
Per The Mole: “Aussies clubs showed interest, but too late. Rimbu has signed a two-year deal with English club Castleford and flies out to the north of England soon.”
Rimbu will join fellow Papua New Guinea international teammates such as Liam Horne and Sylvester Namo when he heads to Wheldon Road, and it’s likely that he’ll play with both of those men before his switch.
Papua New Guinea face The Cook Islands this weekend and all of Rimbu, Horne and Namo have been named in the Kumuls squad but interestingly it is Rimbu who starts at hooker.
It could be that Liam Horne moves to loose forward for the Tigers in 2025 with Joe Westerman shifted to prop as Danny McGuire sets about finding his preferred team.
