Brisbane Broncos head coach Kevin Walters has refuted claims that he and out-of-favour winger Corey Oates have had a confrontation about the latter’s lack of game time.
Oates has played just five games in 2021, but is earning around half a million dollars and still has an option in his contract to remain with the Broncos next season.
But, it was reported earlier in the week that Oates went face-to-face with Walters over him being snubbed for team selection.
“He hasn’t challenged me, he just asked how he was going and I gave him some feedback,” Walters told Fox Sports.
“But, that’s between Corey and I.”
“When Corey plays to his ability he’ll be back in the side. It’s not that hard.”
