Hull KR have announced that under-16s coach Ben Cockayne has left the club by mutual consent.
The former Rovers three-quarter was fined £2,000 for repeated breaches of the RFL’s social media, safeguarding and Covid-19 policies.
During 2020 and 2021 Cockayne was said to have used Twitter to voice controversial views about the virus and related testing and vaccine arrangements – views that have since been considered incompatible with his responsibility for the development and welfare of young Rugby League players.

Sacked for having an opinion, disgraceful. The only thing that could make that marginally acceptable, was if he was using Hull KR official social media………what a depressing state of affairs
