Club ready to make emergency signing

Penrith are set to re-open negotiations with Canterbury-bound Bronco Tevita Pangai Junior to help cover for James Fisher-Harris in the business end of the season, the Sydney Morning Herald has reported.

Initially, the Panthers had refuted suggestions that they were in for Pangai, but with Fisher-Harris likely to miss nearly a month due to quarantine issues, Penrith have gone back.

Fisher-Harris will be in the Penrith side against the New Zealand Warriors on Saturday, but will then be returning to Sydney for the birth of his child.

The NRL later said that the prop would have to leave the club’s biosecurity bubble and then quarantine for a further fortnight once he returned.
