Club moves onto latest halfback target

The Wests Tigers have been going through plenty of halfback targets lately.

Under the guidance of former Hull KR boss Tim Sheens, the Tigers are looking for a new halfback and have looked at options in the NRL and Super League.

They had a huge interest in Mitchell Moses but he signed an extension at the Parramatta Eels.

Luke Brooks is their current number seven but he has been linked with a move to Leeds Rhinos for 2024 or at least a move into the number six jersey rather than the seven spot.

The Tigers chased Warrington Wolves star George Williams but he signed a longer term deal with the Wolves.

They also inquired about Mitchell Pearce but for now the experienced halfback has turned them down.

Another halfback they have also been linked with is Lewis Dodd from St Helens. Though Dodd is keen on a move to the NRL he has been told by Saints CEO Mike Rush to avoid going to the Tigers.

Thus, the Sydney club have had to move onto a new target in what is great news for Super League clubs.

According to The Daily TelegraphManly’s Josh Schuster and Dragons’ Junior Amone are next on the Tigers’ radar.

This means Super League can rest easy for now.
