Chris Satae has quickly become a fans’ favourite at the KCOM Stadium and the rampaging forward has revealed that he wants to stay at Hull for a long time.

“Super League is very entertaining and it’s a lot different to back home, but I’m really enjoying my time here, it’s a different ball game,” Satae said.

“I don’t want to go back to the NRL; I always said I was coming here for the long run and when I’m done here I’m going home.”

The decision to join Hull back in 2019 was made easier by the fact that his friend, Ligi Sao, would be joining him on Humberside.

“We (Satae and Sao) go all the way back to when were at the New Zealand Warriors – we were always together.

“We were NSW Cup winners and always room mates. We always travelled together and spent a lot of time with each other – we probably spend too much time together!

“He was the first one to welcome me here and I got the call from Hull after knowing he would be here which made the decision a lot easier.

“He plays really aggressively and he’s going really well so I’m very happy for him; the way we play now we’ve always played like that, I know what he’s going to bring and he knows what I’m going to bring.”

Satae is determined to stay positive even when his side loses as he knows that the confidence within the camp continues to reign supreme.

“Over here, we strive for perfection but the reality is nothing is ever perfect – win or lose there’s always room improvement.

“We’re sometimes down on a Monday after a loss, but then we cant wait to bounce back.

“Confidence is still high.”
