Chris McQueen was one of the best players in the 2022 Super League season.
As the top scoring forward of the season he was certainly one of the finest forwards of the year and was subsequently named in the Dream Team becoming the 205th player named in the end of year team of the year in Super League history.
In the end it has cemented the 2022 Lance Todd trophy winner as one of the best recent signings in Super League and speaking of this, when talking earlier this season McQueen shed light on the move:
“To be fair I had no idea what to expect. My first phone call, my first contact to the club to me getting here to the club was less than two weeks.
“It all happened really quickly. I was at the Tigers, I wasn’t getting a start there so for me this was a lifeline.
“It all happened so quick, I had no idea what to expect. I was hopeful of coming over here and playing some good footy and having some success but you never know.
“I guess I’m as surprised as anyone at how good my form has been since I’ve come over.”
Reflecting on the Giants, he added:
“I’m really enjoying playing footy, we’ve had a successful year but the finals have only just started. We play all year to get to this point so we haven’t achieved anything yet.
“We made the Challenge Cup Final but we lost that. It has been a good year for me personally and for the Giants.”
