Chris Kendall to take charge of key match in fight for Super League survival

Round Twenty of Super League was a rarity as it saw a set of fixtures that didn’t draw major controversy, a huge chance from the Challenge Cup semi-finals one week prior although there were some minor tense incidents as St Helens hosted Leeds Rhinos.

Those issues were quickly nipped in the bud by official Liam Moore after Morgan Knowles and Richie Myler went head to head with one another.

Only one yellow card was shown across the whole round and just three charges by the Match Review Panel, all of which were Grade B charges and only merited a fine.

It’s typically a sign of a strong refereeing performance when a game passes by without incident and from a quality of rugby point of view that will be what fans want to see this week.

The officials have now been confirmed for the round twenty one fixtures and it’s Chris Kendall who takes charge of the game that has the most on the line.

Wakefield Trinity, with four wins in six, head to Hull FC knowing that a win could lift them from the bottom of the table for the first time all season.

The Challenge Cup semi-final repeat between Wigan Warriors and Hull KR will have Aaron Moore as the man in the middle, whilst the other two Friday night fixtures see Tom Grant in charge at the Jungle as Huddersfield face Castleford and Liam Moore taking charge of Warrington vs Catalans.

Sunday sees two other games as well a Chris Kendall’s Hull FC and Trinity clash, with Leigh travelling to Headingley where they’ll have Marcus Griffiths in charge whereas Salford vs St Helens will be controlled by Jack Smith.
