Chester happy with Wakefield’s fitness

Wakefield Trinity Head Coach Chris Chester was happy with the fitness levels of his side during their 23-22 defeat against Wigan Warriors.

Trinity were 22-6 down at one point, but refused to lie down and missed a drop-goal to level the match at 23-23.

He said: “I was pleased with how we approached the game, pleased with the week. I was really pleased with the fitness as well.

“I thought we came on really strong. We’re a big team and I was worried towards the back end of each half about whether or not we were going to get home.

“We have another big test next week, they will come thick and fast. Saints are a very good side when they are on the front foot.

“There was very little between the two sides and credit to Wigan, their game management was a little better than ours was today.”
