It perhaps doesn’t surprise anyone, but Channel 4’s coverage of Leeds Rhinos’ narrow loss to Warrington Wolves pulled in a record audience for a Super League game.
The game – which ended up as a 22-20 victory for Warrington – had a peak audience of 755,100 and an average audience of 564,700.

A fresh twist on the game with comedian Adam Hills alongside Sam Tomkins, Danika Priim and Leon Pryce as pundits and Mark Wilson and Kyle Amor as commentators.
It just worked – in its entirety – with record numbers of viewers tuning in to watch Leeds Rhinos do battle with the Warrington Wolves with the latter just running out winners in the end.
Being broadcast on a Saturday dinnertime also helped with incredible interest up and down the country wanting to tune in at a reasonable time.
Hull FC host St Helens on Saturday afternoon with such a crowd also expected and anticipated in front of the Channel 4 cameras once more.
