Championship RL Results: Top team concedes 40 as two impressive comebacks secure wins

Another Sunday of Championship action has been and gone and it was as special as always.

Away at Swinton Lions, York had an enjoyable day running in eight trues against the newly promoted side.

There were braces for Towse, Harrison and Brown as former Salford Red Devils and Leigh Centurions halfback Ata Hingano crossed for a try.

Likewise, Sheffield  Eagles enjoyed a thumping win over Widnes Vikings who had beaten Halifax Panthers comprehensively on Monday.

Dawson-Jones grabbed a pair of tries, Ben Jones-Bishop typically scored whilst Cory Aston scored 16 points in a 42-12 triumph.

The side Widnes beat last week got back on track today as the Panthers battled back to beat Batley Bulldogs keeping them scoreless in the second stanza. Lachlan Walmsley crossed for a pair of ties as they won 20-16 having trailed 16-8 at halftime.

There was a similar fightback at Keighley Cougars. They trailed 16-4 at halftime against London Broncos but went on to win 33-22 with Chisholm scoring 9 points and Graham grabbing a brace.

The game of the day saw the struggling Barrow Raiders play out an 18-all draw with Newcastle Thunder.

A brace from Stack had the Raiders 18-16 ahead but a Newcastle penalty with 10 minutes to go ensured the points were shared.

Yesterday, Toulouse Olympique battered Whitehaven at home with a statement 72-10 win with hat-tricks for Lima and Shorrocks.

Shorrocks scored a huge 42 points.

Tomorrow, Featherstone Rovers host Bradford Bulls on Viaplay Sports in a clash between promotion rivals.
