Championship odds revealed as one side overwhelming favourites

The Championship is about to start this afternoon as last year’s surprise package Barrow Raiders host the 2021 Championship winners Toulouse Olympique as they return to the competition after relegation from Super League.

This game at Craven Park kicks off at 15:00 and can be watched on the OurLeague App for £10.

They are the bookmakers’ second favourites for promotion despite only having a squad of 20 players for the new season.

SkyBet has them at 4/1 to win the Championship Grand Final and return to Super League.

They are second favourites behind Featherstone Rovers. Under new boss Sean Long who has brought in the likes of former Wigan Warriors centre Chris Hankinson from Toulouse no less, Featherstone are 10/11 to win the Championship making them overwhelming favourites for promotion and at this juncture not worth betting on given it would have a very minimal return.

Halifax Panthers and York RLFC are very much worth betting at 12/1 as third favourites but perhaps one side people should be betting on is the Bradford Bulls. Seen by many as having the squad to push for promotion after signing the likes of Jack Walker and Bodene Thompson from Leeds Rhinos, they are 14/1 and fourth favourites as are the Keighley Cougars following the signing of Luke Gale.

Whitehaven have the longest odds at 150/1 even more so than newly promoted Swinton Lions who are 100/1.

Despite playing in last year’s Grand Final, Batley are 16/1 as are the Widnes Vikings.

Surprisingly despite some exciting signings Sheffield Eagles are 25/1.

Featherstone Rovers 10/11
Toulouse Olympique 4/1
Halifax Panthers 12/1
York City Knights 12/1
Bradford Bulls 14/1
Keighley Cougars 14/1
Batley Bulldogs 16/1
Widnes Vikings 16/1
Barrow Raiders 25/1
Sheffield Eagles 25/1
London Broncos 66/1
Newcastle Thunder 80/1
Swinton Lions 100/1
Whitehaven RLFC 150/1
