London Broncos have re-signed fan favourite Ethan Natoli as they look to kick on in the Championship. Natoli has penned a deal until the end of the season in the capital, with his return coming just a few months after he initially left the club.
The Australian born Italy international spent two seasons with the Broncos earlier his career, joining the club for the first time in 2023. In his first season with the Broncos, the versatile forward helped the club to promotion, playing 32 games and scoring three tries.
He backed that up with 16 outings last season in Super League, with Natoli touching down twice in separate losses to Leeds Rhinos.
He moved on following relegation to join French Super XIII side Pia, but the 30-year-old has now returned to London and he’ll be looking to play a key role as the Broncos look to move away from the bottom end of the Championship table.
London don’t play this weekend but Natoli is due to join up with Mike Eccles’ side next week and looks set to make his debut for the club at Doncaster.
“I’m really happy to be getting back to London, ‘my home away from home’, with the squad in the coming weeks,” he told the London Broncos website after joining.
London have endured a difficult season so far and currently sit 12th in the Championship having won just two of their opening nine league games. Those wins have come against Featherstone Rovers and Hunslet with the latter coming back in March. Since then the club have lost five on the spin with the 22-20 defeat to Sheffield Eagles last time out being agonisingly close.
An Australia consortium are on the verge of a takeover deal to buy the Broncos and the hope is that will give the club financial security moving forward.
