Scott Galeano, a 26-year-old winger or centre, has agreed a deal until the end of 2026 and joins York after three seasons with Melbourne Storm’s feeder club Sunshine Coast Falcons. He made his Queensland Cup debut in 2022 for Tweed Seagulls and has scored 41 tries in 60 games in the competition.
Galeano, who is due to arrive in England in April, made one appearance for Melbourne Storm in an NRL trial two years ago and crossed 10 times during 21 matches for the Falcons last season. He has played once this term, grabbing a try as a winger in a win against PNG Hunters.
Knights coach Mark Applegarth said: “There were a number of clubs over here interested in him. From the games I’ve watched of him – and that has been quite a few – he is going to be a massive addition to our back line so I’m really delighted to have him over the line and I can’t wait to welcome him over.”
York have made a mixed start to the Championship season, winning their last two games against Barrow Raiders and Batley Bulldogs after losing their opening three.
