Second-tier side Batley Bulldogs have strengthened their side ahead of this weekend’s crucial Championship fixture by bringing in Wigan Warriors and Wakefield Trinity men on loan.
The Bulldogs take on Midlands Hurricanes on Sunday, in a game that could see Batley leapfrog their opponents in the table with a victory.
The sides sit ninth and eighth on the ladder respectively, but with just one point separating the two, Batley would love to take the win and cement a more solid place in the top 10 as the end of the regular season comes ever closer.
In their quest for the two points, they have called in some reinforcements, with players from Wigan and Wakefield arriving at James Ford’s side in recent days.
Starting with the Warriors, Finlay Yeomans will make only his second appearance at senior level, after making his debut as part of Wigan’s heavily rotated squad to face Hull KR the week before the Challenge Cup Final.
The centre will join Batley alongside prop Finn McMillan, who featured for the Bulldogs in last week’s game against Oldham.
McMillan joined Wigan from Barrow in the off-season, and like Yeomans made his Super League debut in that defeat to the Robins.
The duo will combine with Wakefield forward Jordan Williams at the club, after Daryl Powell has allowed the former London man to also make a short-term switch.
Williams has made just one appearance in Super League this year, with that being in the first game of the season at home to Toulouse.
