With the Challenge Cup Sixth Round done and dusted, there were a number of standout players and a number of standout ties.
Wigan Warriors put Salford Red Devils to the sword on Friday night to kick off the round, putting a 20-0 scoreline on the Red Devils before St Helens overcame a dogged Whitehaven on Saturday afternoon.
Hull KR just about scraped past Leigh Centurions whilst Hull FC were rampant against Sheffield Eagles at Featherstone Rovers’ Millennium Stadium.
Featherstone Rovers put on a mighty showing at Catalans Dragons, eventually going down 27-14 as Castleford Tigers hammered Leeds Rhinos 40-16 on Saturday evening.
Wakefield Trinity were able to overcome Warrington Wolves for the second time in a week thanks to an incredible 16-12 win whilst Championship side Barrow Raiders pushed Huddersfield Giants all the way in a brilliant cup spectacle to round off the weekend’s games.
But, who deserves a place in the Challenge Cup Team of the Week?
1. Jake Connor – Hull FC
Proved vital as Hull demolished Sheffield Eagles on Saturday.
2. Connor Wynne – Hull FC
He was played on the other wing for Hull, but Greg Eden takes that place. However, Wynne could not be left out after a stunning hat-trick in victory over Sheffield.
3. John Bateman – Wigan Warriors
Was asked to go into the centre after an injury to Kai Pearce-Paul and he more than delivered.
4. Joey Leilua – Featherstone Rovers
He scored twice against Catalans and showed his NRL quality with a number of massive runs and hits in defence.
5. Greg Eden – Castleford Tigers
Another devastating performance from Eden, whose interception early in the second-half killed off Leeds’ momentum.
6. Mikey Lewis – Hull KR
When Hull KR needed someone to step up against Leigh, Mikey lewis proved to be that man with a scintillating performance.
7. Mason Lino – Wakefield Trinity
This man in some serious form at present and the halfback was scintillating for Wakefield in another win over Warrington.
8. Sam Kasiano – Catalans Dragons
Proved the difference down the middle for Catalans against a resurgent Featherstone side.
9. Sam Powell – Wigan Warriors
Had an incredible game at hooker and really took the Salford fixture by the scruff of the neck.
10. Chris Satae – Hull FC
The prop forward ran riot against Sheffield on Saturday with a number of explosive runs.
11. Andre Savelio – Hull FC
Some great ball handling and big runs etches Andre Savelio’s name onto this week after helping to demolish Sheffield.
12. Kelepi Tanginoa – Wakefield Trinity
It was a massive performance from Kelepi Tanginoa in their second win over Warrington in a week.
13. Joe Westerman – Castleford Tigers
How good is this man? A move back to Castleford appears to have sent his game to another level and Westerman enjoyed a brilliant game against Leeds.

14. Danny Levi – Huddersfield Giants
With Adam O’Brien starting the game, Danny Levi was sat on the bench. However, the New Zealander came on and brought some big energy to the Huddersfield side.
15. Kyle Amor – St Helens
You could tell how much Kyle Amor enjoyed playing against hometown club Whitehaven with a massive performance off the bench for St Helens.
16. Liam Watts – Castleford Tigers
Watts brought some devastating energy off the bench to help Castleford thrash their local rivals Leeds.
17. Sebastine Ikahihifo – Huddersfield Giants
The man mountain came off the bench for Huddersfield against Barrow and punched holes in the Raiders’ defence all afternoon, scoring a superb try.
