The draw for the quarter-finals of the 2025 Challenge Cup have been made with the competition wide open after Wigan Warriors’ exit.
Matt Peet’s side were the firm favourites to retain their crown and be successful at Wembley but a massive performance from Hull FC ended Wigan’s run of consecutive trophies as the Black and Whites won 26-22.
That was the standout game from Round Four and John Cartwright’s side have been rewarded with a home tie against cross city rivals Hull KR, with the 2025 final marking 40 years since their infamous clash at Wembley – the last piece of silverware that the Robins lifted.
Among the other big names in the hat were St Helens who were drawn away from home against Warrington Wolves in another massive clash.
Elsewhere, last year’s 1895 Cup winners Wakefield Trinity were drawn at home to the 2023 Challenge Cup winners Leigh Leopards whilst Salford Red Devils face a tricky test away against Catalans Dragons.
Tonight’s draw took place live on BBC Radio 5 Live and hosted by Mark Chapman from 9 pm until 10 pm. Conducting the draw were former Challenge Cup winners Adrian Morley and Jon Wilkin with the pair picking out the ties below.
Those games will be played on the weekend of April 4th to April 6th with further details to be disclosed in the coming days.
Mark Chapman confirmed that the BBC will broadcast two of those games with the first two ties looking mouthwatering and hard to ignore by the broadcasters.
