Challenge Cup betting odds updated after quarter-final draw confirms Hull FC v Hull KR clash

There is a new betting favourite to lift the Challenge Cup after holders Wigan Warriors were knocked out of the competition.

Wigan Warriors fell to defeat against Hull FC on Saturday with a Lewis Martin hat-trick helping the Black and Whites to a 26-22 win. That victory means that Wigan will not get their hands on a piece of silverware in June after having won the previous six available trophies.

Matt Peet’s side had been the firm betting favourites to lift the trophy again at Wembley but Saturday’s result has split the competition wide open and ensured there are now two different joint-favourites.

Two other Super League clubs exited the competition with Leeds Rhinos losing 22-14 to St Helens and Huddersfield Giants falling 22-12 to Wakefield Trinity. Elsewhere, all five Championship sides were knocked out of the competition to mean that just eight Super League sides remain in the competition.

Last night’s draw confirmed a Hull derby, St Helens to host Warrington, Wakefield to host Leigh and Salford to travel to Catalans and that’s seen an outright favourite now named after previous joint favourites.

Prior to the draw both St Helens and Hull KR were priced at 11/4 but St Helens have now drifted to 7/2 after their tough tie against Warrington Wolves was confirmed.

The 2024 finalists Warrington are priced at 4/1 whilst 2023 winners Leigh Leopards are joint fourth favourites at 13/2 alongside Catalans Dragons. Hull FC are priced at 9/1 whilst Wakefield Trinity, last year’s 1895 Cup winners, and struggling Salford Red Devils are deemed outsiders.

That draw was made last night with the fixtures set to be played on the dates from April 4th to April 6th with two games set for BBC coverage.
