Centurions announce new captain

Leigh Centurions have announced forward Danny Addy as their new captain for the 2020 season.

Addy replaces Micky Higham, who retired at the end of the season. Liam Hood and Ben Reynolds are both appointed vice-captain.

Centurions Head Coach John Duffy told LCTV: “Danny Addy has stood out since day one. I’ve worked with him before at Scotland, so I’ve always known he’s had those leadership qualities in him.

“He’s not always been allowed to show those qualities with Scotland, but I’ve always seen Danny as a true leader, on and off the pitch. He is someone who the boys look up to.

“He deserves the captaincy this year and I want him to be the best captain this club has ever had. I am sure he will do a really good job for us this season. “Danny got a bit emotional when I asked him to do the job.”
