Catalans youngster signs new deal

Catalans Dragons have announced halfback Arthur Mourgue has signed a new three-year contract with the club.

Mourgue, 21, joined the club from Avignon in 2016. He signed his first full-time contract a year later and made his Super League debut in 2018.

The French international played some games as a fullback and one at Hooker. He made seven appearances and scored two tries for the Dragons.

Mourgue said: “I’m really happy to sign a new contract with the Catalans Dragons. It’s a great opportunity for me. I love playing for this team and its fans. I can’t wait to start the new season.”

Head Coach Steve McNamara added: “Arthur has developed extremely well over the last 12 months due to his attitude and professional approach. His work ethic is outstanding.

“He is an exciting player who we feel will now go onto to establish himself both at the Dragons and in the Super League competition.”
